Tom is the CEO of Big Fish EDA Consulting and has spent over 25 years advancing the methodologies that keep silicon development reliable, scalable, and rigorous. From his leadership on industry-defining standards like SystemVerilog, UVM, and Portable Stimulus, as well his long tenure on the DVCon U.S. Steering Committee, including serving as General Chair, not to mention his tenure as Strategic Verification Architect at Siemens EDA, he’s built more than just frameworks. He’s shaped the way an entire generation of engineers approaches verification.
If you've ever worked with SystemVerilog, UVM or portable stimulus, or contributed to industry discussions on functional coverage techniques, formal model checking, or just how to approach functional verification in general, you’ve likely encountered Tom’s influence. He’s been a consistent voice for clarity and practicality in an increasingly complex landscape.

He’ll play a key role at Moores LabAI by helping shape how agentic systems can align with trusted workflows, how AI can complement (not replace) engineering talent and intent, and how we preserve the foundations of rigorous verification while reimagining the tooling around it.
